2025 Saskatchewan Cup BMX: Series 3 & 4

VOLUNTEER NEEDS:

We need the help of many to pull off a Provincial Race weekend. Please consider volunteering wherever you can. 2 volunteer credits for each position or shift worked!

ELIGIBILITY: 

  • Any licensed racer can attend series races and gain points in the SK Cup Race Series.
  • SK Riders must have a Provincial Racing License, while out of province riders must have their UCI.
  • There are a total of 4 series races and one Grands race.
  • In 2025, the first two series races are at Warman BMX, the second two series races are at Globe BMX, and Grands (the finale of the SK Cup Series) and Provincial Championships is August 30th & 31st at 13th Ave BMX in Regina.
  • Grands: Any attending rider at Grands can earn a “P” plate if they have raced in 50% of the series events (any 2 of the 4 events).
  • Riders earn “P” plates at Grands by accumulating points at each SK Cup BMX race (#1,#2,#3,#,4 and Grands).
  • Any licensed racer can attend Provincial Championships on Sunday, August 31st (13th Ave BMX). There are no qualification guidelines and it is a single day even on the Sunday, not at all connected to Grands on Saturday.
  • Out-of-province riders may contest Provincial Championship races but are not eligible to claim any medal, SK plate or provincial title.
  • PLEAE READ SCA BMX policies for further explanation if required.
  • Striders do not need to sign up, however there will be a strider event both days, sign up on site.

Licence Requirements:

You must have a Provincial or UCI license to compete in the Sask Cup BMX Series of races.  A Cycling For All License does not allow you to race at a SCA sanctioned event (Districts, Provincial Events). The Cycling for All license will only be allowed for use for the Strider/Under 4 Pedal Event. Out of province riders must have a UCI license.

You will be asked to present your race licence when checking in.  If you do not have your license, you may be denied from racing or charged a $10 fine as per SCA rules.

  • NO registration at the track except Strider/4 & Under who will register on-site, day of the events
  • Multiple riders can be registered on the same form. Please select “add rider” to register an additional rider
  • Please ensure you have selected a payment option for each rider you are registering
  • Cut-off is Thursday July 17th at 10PM

RACE SCHEDULE:

Check In: 8:30 AM  – 9:30 AM

  • Confirm your attendance
  • Show race license
  • Ensure name, age, category and plate number are correct on Sqorz
  • Late check-ins may be excluded from racing

Motos Posted on Sqorz: 10:30 AM

  • Check for your moto number and lane assignment for all 3 of your moto’s.  If required, you will be informed of a semi final race. Semi and Final lanes are assigned by moto finishing positions.  

Staging: 10:45 AM

  • It is your responsibility to be in staging in time for your moto and enter your assigned gate number when directed to take the gate.

Strider & Pedal event (4 and under):

  • There will be a 4 and under strider / pedal event at ~ 10:45 and again after the break before the 3rd moto.  
  • There is no cost for the strider event. 
  • Must have a Cycling for All cycling licence through the Saskatchewan Cycling Association.
  • Safety gear for striders is best effort, must have a helmet.

Race:

Saturday 11:00 am
Awards will follow racing once results have been live/finalized on Sqorz for 15 minutes without protest.

SERIES POINTS & GENERAL RULES:

Series & Grands Points

The Sask Cup BMX Series is a total points series. Your points from Saskatchewan Cup #1, #2, #3, and #4 will be added to points achieved at the Sask Cup BMX Grands to determine your overall placing in the series.  You must attend at least 50% of the series races prior to attending Grands to be eligible to earn a placing at the completion of Grands.

You must attend the Grands to achieve a placing for the Saskatchewan Cup Series.  The Grands race classes are divided by age and class although you may race with others.

Position (P) plates will be awarded at the end of the Grands days racing for your eligible class.

Awards will be presented for race day positions at Grands separate from P plate awards.

Rule Guidelines to Follow:

We will be following the UCI rules for Bikes as well as Clothing. See UCI BMX Rules. Saskatchewan Cycling Regulations can be found here as well.

Other Rules and Regulations:

  • All attendees must follow the Globe BMX, Saskatchewan Cycling, Canadian Cycling and UCI rules, codes and policies.
  • All attendees must comply with City of Saskatoon Bylaws.
  • Riders aged 6 and under may receive parental assistance at the start gate provided the rider gains no forward momentum from such assistance.  Assistance must be limited to use of legs only; no hands.
  • The use of obscene or foul language or other objectionable conduct will result in disciplinary action.
  • Urinating in public is forbidden and will result in disciplinary action. Washroom is provided on site.
