2022 Practice Session Bookings & Protocols

UPDATED January 8, 2022 – Sunday practice sessions will run May-August, until Fall Racing schedule takes effect in September.

FORMAT OVERVIEW & SESSION SIZE

  • Two groups of 50 riders (more spots in each group will be added if needed). Groups are purely from a coaching management perspective, not Covid, no age limits or restrictions in each group.
  • Striders welcome in either group, no strider coaching
  • Coaching broken into potential smaller groups per session if coaching availability arises

SUNDAY – COACHING SESSION TIMES:

  • 1:00pm – 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 3:00pm

SESSION NOTES:

  • When viewing sign up times, it would be advantageous to communicate with in advance and sign up with riders that you enjoy riding and training with, and are of like skill (optional, but likely beneficial!)

SESSION SIGNUP:

  • Only current Globe BMX 2022 members that also hold a valid SCA cycling licence will be able to attend practice sessions at this time.
  • Session signup will be done weekly via the Calendly app, integrated into the globebmx.com website.
  • Waiver questions will be included within sign-up process each week.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS: PRIOR, ONSITE AND POST ATTENDANCE (RIDERS, PARENTS OR BOARD):

  • Prior to the session all must self assess for COVID-19 symptoms including:
    • Fever 
    • Sore throat
    • Cough
    • Chills
    • Headache
    • Runny nose
    • Muscle and/or joint aches and pains
    • Nasal congestion
  • This will also be a question asked when booking on the calendly session app
  • Anyone displaying symptoms will not be allowed to participate. 
  • All ride participants are asked to report if within 14 days of the ride they start showing signs of any illness or test positive for COVID-19

GENERAL PROTOCOL & SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • At least 1 parent must attend with riders aged 16 & under to practice
  • Riders must bring all their own equipment and should consider also bringing own maintenance equipment (pump, spare tubes, tools) in the event of any mechanical issues)
  • Anyone displaying symptoms will not be allowed to participate. 
  • All ride participants are asked to report if within 14 days of the ride they start showing signs of any illness or test positive for COVID-19.
  • It is recommended that parents include gloves, mask and sanitizer in their gear bags

BOOK A SUNDAY COACHING SESSION:

Coaching sessions will focus on proper warms ups, then each Sunday will have a coach in attendance to work on proper BMX racing form.
